The hard rocking music of Disciple from Knoxville, Tennessee has been wowing American music fans since they first emerged in 1995.
With their latest album ‘Love Letter Kill Shot’, their first for Tooth & Nail Records but their 12th overall, they’ve landed xRhythms playlist songs 'Cuff The Criminal' and 'Touch Of Pain'.
The title ‘Love Letter Kill Shot’ takes inspiration from the salvation message of the Gospel. Said Disciple’s frontman Kevin Young, “It’s the duality of our perceived identity and Christ’s identity in us that shapes the album.”
Christ uses all tragedy for victory.
Tooth & Nail reported that through using personal stories of depression, anxiety and suffering, Young and fellow bandmates Josiah prince, Andrew Stanton and Joey West, highlight the redeeming truth that Christ uses all tragedy for victory.
‘Love Letter Kill Shot’ unleashes the band’s enthusiasm for heavy rock and scripture that heals.
In an interview with Cross Rhythms radio, Kevin Young spoke about the band’s upfront name, "I think it's a shame when artists are not being themselves and just trying to become something they're not, for money or fame or whatever. People see through that and that's when people begin to lose interest."
We're just trying to be ourselves and share our faith with people.
Kevin continued, "We're going to be ourselves and share ourselves and hopefully do it in a non-threatening way. We're not trying to make anybody mad or anything but just trying to put out the best music we possibly can and be ourselves and share our faith with people."
