Soul
The Liverpudlian singing star, Rebecca Ferguson, rose to fame through X Factor in 2010.
Her classics ‘Glitter & Gold’ from 2011, and 'I hope' from 2013, are much loved xRhythms oldies.
The star has gone through a lot of trauma in her life. She was sexually abused in a care home when she was eight years old, she had a criminal case against a former accountant for fraud, where she lost £40,000. She also had a failed marriage, leaving her to bring up three kids as a single mum.
It shows that troubles and trauma have been part of Rebecca’s life for most of her 32 years. This would have flattened most entertainers.
But at last, things are on the up for the hugely talented soul and pop singer.
She told Music Republic magazine, “My resolution this year is to live in less fear. I am quite the fearful person, quite nervous, always thinking up the worst case scenario. My resolution is not to think that way and to live happy and to live thinking that the best thing’s gonna happen tomorrow – not the worst.”
Now the star is ready to return to her music.
She admitted that the court case took an emotional toll on her, and it stopped her from going to the studio. She took some time to focus on herself, and now the star is ready to return to her music.
Next year, a new album with superstar producer Nile Rodgers at the helm is to be released.
I am hopeful that it will be a good album.
About the forthcoming album, Rebecca said in Music Republic Magazine, “I am determined to make sure it is a masterpiece. I am not rushing it and I’ve got no need to rush. No deadline on me. I can relax. I can do it. I want to really perfect it and make something that is timeless. . . God willing, I am hopeful that it will be a good album.”
