Nu-clear Hodge is a rapper from Stoke-on-Trent, yep, the same place as the xRhythms HQ. His hip-hop single, ‘Scriptural’, has made it to the xRhythms playlist.

The rapper's early life was far from easy. A line in his aforementioned single with Hip Chimp reads, “The greatest lessons in life you seem to learn from suffering”, and we can see that he learned some impactful lessons in the struggles he faced.

I spent a lot of my life in jail.

He told Cross Rhythms, “I spent a lot of my life in jail, in fact, I found God in a prison cell." And it was in that prison cell that he decided to invite Jesus into his life.

Nu-clear saw some pretty traumatic things during his time in prison. While going through it all, the rapper asked God to give him a deep peace in the environment that he was in.

I had peace.

"I felt peace and I knew that this was real for me”, he said. “Even though I was in some chaotic places, where every couple of weeks someone's hanging themselves, [and] people are dying, I had peace… It's not about the physicality, it's about what you can't see.”

Nu-clear has been rapping for quite a while now, and it's clear to see from his story, and in his single, that his lyrics hold weight.
