Drummer Jen Ledger released a video for her single “My Arms” in February last year and has been added to our xRhythms playlist.
The Coventry born drummer released the EP “Ledger” in 2018, ten years after joining the band “Skillet” when former drummer Lori Peters left.
Talking with Rock On Purpose about the EP, Ledger talks about what originally inspired her to do a solo outing, “…there was something in my heart that sort of said ‘You’re an influence to people, you’ve got this platform before you, why not use this to another level and make your voice even clearer?’”
Korey helped her write 12 songs.
After getting in contact with her bandmates John and Korey Cooper for training, she embarked on a writing journey telling Rock On Purpose that Korey helped her write 12 songs, only one of which actually made it to the final cut of the EP.
The song in question, “Ruins”, talks about overcoming hurt and pain with a love so good you don’t want to go back.
Jen is still touring as a drummer for Skillet and has often been the supporting act for them at many gigs as well as having her own slots at festivals they have played at.
We have plenty of Skillet tracks on our xRhythms playlist alongside Ledger, go check them out now!
