Abigail Duhon
Pop
'Rebound' by Abigail Duhon, now on the xRhythms playlist, is a gentle electric pop song which will uplift and motivate. The track combines synthetic instruments and an engaging dance beat.
Although she’s only 19 Abigail has many years of music experience and in fact began her music career at age 11.
With lyrics full hope, it’s no surprise the radio hit by the New Orleans teenager features on an album of songs from and inspired by the most recent 'God’s Not Dead' motion picture.
The words perfectly sum up the message of the song.
"Cause I am resilient
And there is no fear in me
When I fall down I get up
No I'm not afraid to hit the ground
'Cause the sky is where I will rebound."
Duhon reminds us all to get back up when we fall.
Music is not just a hobby for the singer; she penned her first song at six years old and discovered her passion for music after Hurricane Katrina destroyed her family home.
By 2013 Abigail had launched her acting career with a part in the film 'This Is Our Time', and in 2014 was cast as student Abi Wheaton in the first of the 'God's Not Dead' movies. Her most challenging role, though, was in 'I'm Not Ashamed' which tells the story of Rachel Joy Scott from the Columbine High School shootings.
I fully surrendered everything in my life to Christ.
When asked about her faith she told Cross Rhythms, "I was five years old when I first accepted Christ into my heart at church but it wasn't until the last couple of years that I fully surrendered everything in my life to him.
"My music at the moment is quite dance-orientated but who knows where it might go in the future? As I grow older I think my music will reflect that. What will remain the same though is my message, that only in abandoning everything to the Lord will you find direction and fulfilment in your life."
