London rapper and hip hop artist Faith Child has performed for the first time since the first nationwide lockdown on the 17th of July. Some of his music, like “Just Pose” and “Take Off” have been featured on our xRhythms playlist.
He re-announced this show in Coventry by tweeting a video from a rehearsal space and commenting on how long it has been since he has performed in front of people.
This performance came among many other appearances from other artists like Michael Bassey as part of Praise Week, a week-long music festival centred on faith-based music hosted by the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Holy Ghost Zone in Coventry.
The MOBO (Music of Black Origin) Award winning artist has released two singles last year, one in June 2020 as a team up with KB and Ty Brasel titled “New Era”, and one solo single on the 2nd of December called “Creator of the World”.
A seasoned performer with a degree in performing arts, Faith Child has performed in over 20 countries across Europe, America, and Africa to audiences ranging from 50 to 50,000 people.
Real name Michael Oluwaseyi Ayo, he talks on his website about where his stage name comes from. “The name ‘Faith Child’ relates to the story of how his mother was close to aborting him but heard God’s audible voice telling her to keep the child and have faith in Him – making him a ‘faith child’.”
