Chris Renzema
Nashville based singer-songwriter Chris Renzema released his single “Better” on the 20th March last year ahead of releasing his second album “Let The Ground Rest” on the 24th April 2020. This track has now been added to our xRhythms playlist.
The lyrics of this track talk about asking God for help and wanting to do better in life, “I know Your good news, but God I'm just not good at this/ Will I figure it out or is this just how people live.”
Originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, Chris taught himself to write songs and play guitar during high school, and recorded his first EP entitled “Age To Age” in August 2014. He is currently signed to Centricity Records, with whom he released “Let The Ground Rest”, his first release with the label.
Learn and understand God's love.
In a conversation with JubileeCast Chris reflects on the themes surrounding his album and the B-sides EP that he released in January this year. “The heartbeat of whole album is the idea that growth comes from periods of rest, of barrenness. It's a process to see winter move to spring," Chris explains. "It's a process to exist, to learn and understand God's love. While his love is not seasonal, we go through seasons as we understand and experience it. Spring is not spring without winter, and that process is a good thing."
