The song 'Who Do You Work For' by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus is currently on the xRhythms playlist.
They have been around since 2001.
This hugely talented group from Jacksonville, Florida, have been around since 2001.
They signed to Virgin, where their debut album 'Don't You Fake It' was a major mainstream hit. 'Who Do you Work For' appears on the band’s fourth project, '4'.
'4' has numerous lyrics referencing their Christian faith while their refusal to be boxed into any single musical genre is clearly evident.
They joyfully move from style to style.
Whether performing a pop rock ballad like 'Other Side', or offering an eight-minute plus piece of progressive metal 'Grimm 2.0' (a sequel to a song that first appeared on the band's debut album), they are able to embrace different genres of music.
Since the release of ‘4’, the group of five has gone on to release their fifth album ‘The Awakening’, which was produced by frontman Ronnie Winter with his wife Angela credited as a co-producer.
'4' is about a character who changes his life for the better.
Speaking to The A-List, Winter explained that the album wasn’t intentionally spiritual but added, “It’s about a character who is facing a lot of turmoil and strife, and then he makes a change in his life for the better and realises that sometimes our own decisions in life are the problem."
The story of the record tells of how this character changes himself for the better.
A lot of that story involves God.
"A lot of that story involves God," he continued, "because I am a religious person and I’m not afraid to talk about it, but it’s not only about that, it’s about all of the emotions that you go through growing up, and making hard choices in life.” And their latest single 'Shooting Star' also has a similar meaning.
