‘Supernatural’ and ‘September’ are two bright songs featuring on the xRhythms playlist by award-winning artist Tauren Wells, from his 2017 album ‘Hills And Valleys’.
The album received praise from many reviewers, including a Cross Rhythms review, which said, “His debut full-length album, is packed with radio-friendly music and soulful R&B vocals… Overall, 'Hills And Valleys' is a hugely successful debut.”
Artists often have a habit of claiming that their soon-to-be-released album is going to be their best ever. But when Tauren, who was named New Artist Of The year at Christian Music’s Dove Awards in Nashville, says his album will be the best ever, people are likely to listen.
This album is one of the most important things I’ve ever done.
Talking about his second solo album ‘Citizen Of heaven’, to be released on 24th January 2020, Wells said, “I have this unshakable feeling that this album is going to be one of the most important things I’ve ever done. It just feels special”.
Appropriately enough, ‘Citizen of Heaven’ will be brimming over with special guests. Gospel superstar Kirk Franklin, country music hitmakers Rascal Flatts, Steven Furtick of Elevation Worship, and Jenn Johnson of Bethel Music are all guesting on the project.
He was a founder member of Royal Tailor.
Tauren was born in April 1986 in Battle Creek, Michigan. Finishing university, he was a founder member of an R&B pop gospel group Royal Tailor. After some concerts they were signed to Essential Records and enjoyed a stream of US Christian radio hits.
In an interview with Jesusfreakhideout, Tauren gave his thoughts about Christianity and entertainment.
I'm trying to be intentional about people.
“What I'm trying to do is be intentional about people. That's what I see with Jesus. As he was on his way to perform some of the greatest miracles that we would ever see, he stops for a woman with an issue of blood. He sends his words to a girl who was thought to be dead. In his dying breaths, he speaks to the thief on the cross. That, to me, is the picture of Christianity that I want to reflect in my life.”
Tauren continued, “It is all about showing people who Jesus is, and that comes at the high price of 'self'."
