Disney star praises the importance of family

For some, Disney channel has been a pivotal part of our childhoods and it’s hard to imagine Disney without ‘The Jonas Brothers’. These three brothers were categorised, remembered and praised as a trio, sharing a band name that celebrated them as one family rather than three individuals. So it’s no surprise that we think of them together and some may not even know their first names.

For our inspirational people series this week, I’m going to delve deeper into the background and beliefs of one of the Jonas Brother’s lead singers, Joe Jonas.

Joseph Adam Jonas was born on the 15th August in 1989 in Arizona. Joseph was the son of a sign language teacher and an ordained church minister.

From an early age, he speaks of a personal relationship with God that has stemmed from his upbringing and said in an interview with Teen magazine, “We do a lot of things [before we go onstage]. First of all, we pray together and we have a time to focus and get ready. We call it lockdown, and we have 45 minutes where it's just us and no one comes in and no one goes out. It's a cool time to get focused and we just get psyched and really excited about the show."

For Joe Jonas, this time was important to him to reflect on his own personal journey and the journey of his brothers. 

Having constant comparisons to each other hasn’t tainted the brothers relationship.

Growing up as musical trio and having constant comparisons to each other hasn’t tainted the relationship between Joe Jonas and his brothers Kevin, Nick, and Frankie. Frankie isn’t part of ‘The Jonas Brothers’ group but is successful as a musician and former child actor.

Despite the fame and pressures from a very young age, the brothers have stayed close and support each other’s solo work on social media. The bond between Joe Jonas and his brothers is inspiring and it’s hard not to love their adoration and how proud they are of each other.  

If you’re a Joe Jonas fan already, you’ve probably seen his hand flying all over the world, if you’re not, you’ll need an explanation.

Jonas made 250 replicas of his hand.

In May 2021, Jonas made 250 replicas of his hand to promote the travel company Expedia. Expedia intended to promote the notion that if anyone needed a helping hand, they could provide this and Joe Jonas’ hand was used as the literal helping hand for those worried about flying as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

To help those affected by the pandemic in other ways, Jonas promoted donations to frontline health workers and is intending to start up a Mental Health Foundation with his wife Sophie Turner as he has seen how difficult it has been for others.

They all work independently but continue to make music together.

Joe Jonas presents to us all how closely he stands by his brothers, and how fame hasn’t prevented their relationship from growing and progressing. They all work independently but continue to make music together to voice their opinions on love, fame and family. It’s great to work on yourself and find who you want to be, but sometimes you need your loved ones for support and ‘The Jonas Brothers’ are a perfect example of this.
